National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE)

Starting October 1, 2024 the CDA will be moving to the new HUD required NSPIRE inspection standards.  Additional information may be found on the HUD website at HUD.gov.
When a Housing Assisted tenant chooses a home, the unit must be inspected by a Housing Authority inspector to confirm the unit meets NSPIRE standards. These standards ensure that families moving into your rental units are safe.
When a family moves into a new unit, the Property Manager will receive a Non-Life-Threatening Deficiency certification verifying the unit has no life-threatening deficiencies.  A physical inspection will be scheduled within 60 days of the lease start date.  Inspections will take place biennially after that.
The CDA will schedule the inspection and notify tenants and landlords of the inspection date and time. If you need to reschedule, please call 651-458-0936.
